Some people only want to get involved with poker if they are going to be able to pick up the game in a short amount of time. In other words, they do not want to spend many months learning the game just to find that they no longer want to play.
Everybody learns in a different manner. Some poker players can pick up the basic details and strategy within a few hands. Others have to stick with things a bit longer in order to understand what is going on. It all depends on how much time you are willing to put in, as well as how quick you learn.
