Do you think that it takes a long time to learn poker? If so, you are both right and wrong. On one side of things it can take a long time to learn all of the advanced details and strategies. But on the other side, you can pick up the basics in no time at all. The fact of the matter is that you can learn poker in a day’s time if you put your mind to it. No, this will not put you in position to turn pro, but it is a good start nonetheless.
How can you get started? If you want to learn poker and don’t want to take a lot of time doing so, all you need to do is find a source of basic information. For most aspiring poker players this source is the internet. You should not have any problems locating plenty of quality sources that are full of poker tips and much more. Of course, you should never overlook other options such as speaking with a mentor. If you know somebody who already plays poker, ask them for help. They may be able to give you the basic knowledge you need in just a couple hours.
For those who are in a hurry, you should attempt to learn the basics of poker as quickly as possible. This does not mean that you should rush, but you do not want to get past the basics so that you can move onto other areas that are just as important.
Remember, you can learn to play poker in a day but you should never forget these lessons. It is the basics of the game that will lay the foundation for a successful career.
