Don’t give up, Poker is a Tough Game

by: Chris Bibey

Why don’t more people play poker? The easy answer to this question is that they have tried, failed, and since moved on. This is not something that you want to do. Keep this in mind: poker is a tough game that takes years of playing to master. And even then, you will be learning as you move forward. If you give up you will never become the poker player that you have dreamed of. Entirely too many players give up on this game for one reason or the next. Are you going to be the next victim?

Why is poker such a difficult game? There is no easy answer to this question because every player is different. For some, the most difficult part of poker is learning the rules. They may know the basics, but when it comes time to implement them during the course of play they freeze up. Fortunately, practice can help a problem like this. As you become more comfortable you will begin to settle into a groove.

Other players cannot stand to lose, so for this reason they quit the game entirely. If you have to when every hand you play, poker is not the game for you. There will be times when another player beats you, or you receive a bad hand. These things happen when playing poker. You need to make sure that you are resilient at all times. When tough times settle in, how are you going to act? If you want to become a good poker player you need to learn from every bad experience that pops up.

If you give up you will look back on your poker career and wonder what could have been. Instead of quitting, think about all of the good that can come from sticking with the game through the tough times.
